Did you know that 4% of the population of the United States have food allergies? Most of these allergies are nut allergies, but a good part are soy and milk allergies. In my family, my younger sister is allergic to gluten, corn, wheat, and soy. I am sensitive to dairy and sugar products, and my mom is sensitive to a few things as well. A BIG thanks to all of you who voted in our food allergy poll. If you voted that either you or a family member has food allergies, would you do us a favor? Could you email us at cookingfromthegroundup@gmail.com and tell us what that/those allergy(s) are? We’d like to be able to post some recipes that would cater to some of those allergies. I (Elizabeth) will be posting one today that will hopefully help out some of you, but I’d like to be able to do some others as well.

It appears that 91% of those who took the poll (to be exact!) like cheesecake. I will add my vote, and that will increase the number!

Question is though, how many of you have ever made cheesecake? I have and it isn’t necessarily the easiest thing….but I LOVE cheesecake! So maybe we’ll do a cheesecake recipe post sometime….
